About the Study
Highway 11 from South Dakota 42 through Redwood Boulevard.
Purpose and Need
The primary driver for completing the SD 11 corridor study is the need to repair or replace aging pavement on segments of SD 11. SDDOT staff regularly investigate conditions along state highways, looking for pavement cracking, chipping/fraying at joints, joints that are missing sealing material and rutting. In the corridor, the SDDOT reports segments with each of these conditions, which combine to suggest rehabilitation within the next seven to 10 years.
The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate typical section and lane configuration to be provided during any reconstruction to accommodate the anticipated traffic growth as development continues in this portion of Minnehaha County.
